Wildlife at the Fishery

As an organisation we are very aware of our responsibility in promoting wildlife. With a healthy population of mallards, coots, moorhens and tufted ducks and our resident heron, we are also often graced with the presence of egrets.

Our substantial bug hotel has been boosted by the donation of red and blue mason bees.

As you can see we have installed a bat box as well as bird boxes for tits and grey wagtails.

We still see evidence and the occasional sightings of the water voles we introduced a few years ago, unfortunately for them, new residents at the lake include a pair of weasels with at least one kitten.

For a more detailed report on the introduction of water voles to the Fishery in 2020, please see the relevant page.
