Recent rain storms

The recent rain storms have had a dramatic effect on the lake. On the plus side the algae and weed have disappeared to the bottom leaving the water very clear.

However, it has also had an effect on dissolved oxygen levels. Last weeks readings were 11.6mg/l (about 130%), this week they were down to 7.5mg/l (80%). 7.5mg/l is a good reading for winter, what concerns me is the sudden change which I will be keeping a close eye on. The temperature levels are pretty consistent, this week they measured 18.8 C, last week was 20.5C and the week before was 18.5C. All still very high, especially considering that they are taken at 8.30am, but to be expected given the weather.
